WEEK 10 LEAGUE REPORT - THURSDAY 2ND FEBRUARY
PREMIER DIVISION - Leaders Hodcarrier 'A' have stumbled in recent weeks and they were made to pay for having a player short in their match at home to eighth placed Bunch Of Grapes having to come from 4-2 and 5-3 down to gain a disappointing 5-5 draw, Dave Nash and Harj Dhesi both recording two frame wins each for the Hod.
Frames Club 'A' edge a point closer to the leaders in second as they came from 3-2 down to win 6-4 at home to seventh placed Holly Bush 'B', Pash Jugpal(Frames) and Ronnie Bartlett(Holly) both winning two frames apiece, Holly just two points clear of the relegation places.
Railway Inn 'B' are the current form team in the division and they climb to third, just three points behind the leaders, after a superb 6-4 win at rivals Wheatsheaf 'A' who drop to fourth place, Neil Dickens winning two frames for the Sheaf, Johnny McDaid losing his first averages frame of the season for the Sheaf.
The Sun 'A' made it four games unbeaten as they edge closer to survival with an excellent 6-4 win at fifth placed Holly Bush 'A', Lee Duckett securing two frame victories for the Sun.
Plough & Harrow resume winning ways and move up to sixth with a 6-4 victory at basement side Sunny Jet 'A', the Jet fielding only five players and now six points adrift of safety, Jim Ashbourne(Jet), James Kerrane and Will Desay(both Plough) all on target with two frame wins each.
FIRST DIVISION - Sydenham Club 'A' win 7-3 and go three points clear at the top after they inflicted a ninth straight defeat on visitors Frames Club 'B', Steve Brierley and Lenny Dawson winning a brace each for Sydenham.
Frames Club 'C' remain second as they fall to a shock 6-4 defeat at home to New Inn who climb out of the drop zone, James Stokes and Paul Bastock(Frames), Chris and Russell Collins(New Inn), this quartet winning two frames each.
The Exchange draw 5-5 with promotion rivals Hodcarrier 'B', both sides now breathing down the neck of second placed Frames Club 'C' in fourth and third respectively, Joe Wild(Exchange) and Paul Beaufoy(Hod) both with two wins.
Jolly Miller are now five games unbeaten and they are making a push to enter the promotion picture in fifth, a 6-4 home victory guiding the Green Man back into the relegation zone, Iain Morris(Jolly) and Ben Wilcock(Green Man) winning two frames.
Elephant & Castle had the BYE, they remain in sixth place.
SECOND DIVISION - All change in Division Two after the battle at the top ended with a 7-3 victory for new leaders Wheatsheaf 'C' at The Shakespeare who drop to second, Suni Brar and Herbinder Biran winning two vital frames each for the Sheaf.
Radford Semele Club temporarily occupy third after they cruise to a comfortable 7-3 home win over bottom side Builders Arms, Dave Santon winning twice for Radford.
Joiners Arms 'B' put daylight between themselves and the relegation places with a 7-3 victory at second bottom The Sun 'B' who are now four points away from safety, Pip Hardy(Sun), Parminder Binning, Leanne Reading and Alan Thompson(all Joiners) winning two frames each.
Heathcote Inn vs Sydenham Club 'B' is a late result, Joiners Arms 'A' had a BYE.
THIRD DIVISION - Railway Inn 'A' are now a massive six points clear at the summit after beating third placed visitors Fusilier 6-4, Ryan Gardner(Fuse), Josh Harrison and Eddie Starzynski(both Railway) all with two frame victories.
Second placed Priors Club 'A' fall to a surprise 6-4 loss at the resurgent Foresters Arms who rise to seventh, John Blake and Ben Brown winning all of Priors' frames, Joe Leigh and Matt Willougby also winning two frames each for Foresters.
Hope Tavern 'B' fail to capitalise on defeats for rivals above them as they lose 6-4 in their derby match with Hope Tavern 'A', the teams lie in fourth and sixth place respectively, Pat Minihane ('B'), Lee Abraham and Ray Keegan(both 'A') all recording two frame wins.
Murphys Bar end a recent barren run with a 7-3 home victory over eighth placed Sunny Jet 'B', Murphys now fifth and just three points away from the promotion spots, Hardip Bains and Paul Shakespeare winning two frames each for Murphys.
Windsor Club have finally gained their first point of the season after a battling 5-5 draw at fellow strugglers Priors Club 'B', Barrie Hopkinson(Windsor), Simon Lynch and Daljit Kandola(both Priors) all winning two frames.
WEEK 9 LEAGUE REPORT - THURSDAY 26TH JANUARY
PREMIER DIVISION - Hodcarrier 'A' retain top spot at the mid-way point of the season but lose their unbeaten record after they were beaten 6-4 by fourth placed visitors Railway Inn 'B', Simon Cox(Hod) and Roy Pontefract(Railway) both winning two frames each.
Frames Club 'A' fail to capitalise on the Hod's loss and remain three points behind in second after they were surprisingly beaten 7-3 at The Sun 'A', a run of six consecutive winning frames helping The Sun to their first league win of the campaign, Billy Morton(Frames), Jamie Rheams and Dean O'Reilly(both Sun) all securing two frame wins each.
Wheatsheaf 'A' gain a point on the top two in third after they came from 3-1 down, led 5-4 but eventually drew 5-5 with sixth placed Holly Bush 'B', Brian Higgins(Holly), Neil Dickens and Johnny McDaid(both Sheaf) all winning two frames, Johnny now two clear at the top of the league averages with a perfect 9 out of 9.
Sunny Jet 'A' now find themselves five points adrift of safety at the bottom after they lose 7-3 at home to eighth placed Bunch Of Grapes, Paul Price, James Hartwell and Nathan Philpott winning two frames each for the Bunch.
Plough & Harrow's recent poor run continues and they are now looking down instead of up after they suffer a 7-3 defeat at fifth placed Holly Bush 'A', Keith Hewer(Plough), Jason Hardman and Mick Martin(both Holly) all on the mark with two wins.
FIRST DIVISION - Sydenham Club 'A's 100% winning run comes to an abrupt end after they are heavily beaten 8-2 at home to Hodcarrier 'B' who are now just three points behind the leaders in third, Mikey Crowley, Sam Hyatt and Carl Thompson all winning two frames for ther Hod.
Frames Club 'C' kept their promotion bid on track in second after they easily outgunned visitors Elephant & Castle 9-1, Josh Saul, Mike Deas, Paul Bastock and Dave Porter all winning a brace each for Frames.
New Inn remain in the drop zone after they lose 6-4 at The Exchange, John McDaid(New Inn), Joe Wild and Aaron Cosgrove(both Exchange) all on target with two wins.
Frames Club 'B' remain without a point, five points adrift of safety and crash to their eighth successive defeat, this time a 9-1 mauling at Jolly Miller, Mark Edwards with two frame wins for the Jolly.
Green Man had the BYE this week.
SECOND DIVISION - The Shakespeare remain leaders at the halfway point and they resumed winning ways with a 7-3 home win over struggling Builders Arms, albeit helped by Builders only having four players, John McGarry(Builders) and Iain McCafferty(Shakespeare) both winning two frames.
Wheatsheaf 'C' beat Joiners Arms 'A' 7-3 to go within a point of top spot in second, Joiners drop to fifth, Carlos Leal(Joiners), Herbinder Biran and Dave Williams(both Sheaf) all winning two frames.
Sydenham Club 'B' remain in good form and they temporarily climb to third place after an excellent 6-4 win at sixth placed Radford Semele Club, Chris Talbot winning two frames for Radford.
Heathcote Inn are now unbeaten in four matches and are now a serious promotion threat after winning 7-3 at home to seventh placed Joiners Arms 'B', Karl Hayward-Bradley and Brian Myers with a brace each for Heathcote.
The Sun 'B' had the BYE this week, they remain second bottom.
THIRD DIVISION - Railway Inn 'A' are now starting to run away with the league and retained their four point cushion at the top with a hard fought 6-4 win over sixth placed visitors Hope Tavern 'A', Sid Sidhu(Railway) and Ray Keegan(Hope) both winning two frames each.
Priors Club 'A' keep their promotion bid on track in second with an excellent 6-4 victory at fifth placed Murphys Bar, Ben Brown winning twice for Priors.
Fusilier retain third spot, two points from second place, but will consider it a point dropped after a disappointing 5-5 draw at second bottom Priors Club 'B', Daljit Kandola(Priors) and Glenn Stanford(Fuse) both securing two frame wins.
Hope Tavern 'B' go joint third, again only two points from the promotion places, with a 7-3 home victory over seventh placed Sunny Jet 'B', Tony Cronin, Dave Talbot and Aiden O'Reilly all winning two frames for the Hope.
Windsor Club remain without a league point and are a massive nine points behind second bottom in the table after they lose 7-3 at home to fellow strugglers Foresters Arms, Ryan Allen and Matt Willoughy winning twice for Foresters.
